Marimba With Pleiades Cowl
This design is knitted like a short scarf with the ends sewn together.
It knits up quickly in this simple stitch pattern and makes a wonderful gift!
Size: One Size.
Materials:
60 yards of Artfibers “Marimba” (bulky weight)
77 yds “Pleiades” (sport weight)
These amounts include 10% extra to allow for differences between knitters.
Size 8 needles and darning needle.
Instructions:
Note: Do not cut the yarn when you change from Marimba to Pleiades and back again. Bring the yarn up the side to begin using it again. This will minimize the finishing work.
Using size 8 needles and Marimba, cast on 40 sts.
Row 1: *K1, yo, repeat from * to the last st, k1.
Row 2: Purl the normal sts and drop the yos off of the needle (this makes the sts longer).
Row 3 through 8: Using Pleiades, work in stockinette stitch (one row knit followed by one row purl).
Repeat these 8 rows as described above until you have 15 complete sets (120 rows total not counting the cast on row).
Bind off using Pleiades. Leave a 30 inch tail for sewing.
Finishing:
Sew the cast on row to the bind off row, using Pleiades Weave in all ends.
